Emotional Bodywork
Mental and emotional factors have a major impact on our health. Stress effects every cell in our body. All aspects of our mind-body are connected; any part can effect any other part.
Here is a simple example of the mind-body connection: If we take a moment to think about what we would like to have for our next meal, maybe a favorite food, seen in our mind's eye…within seconds we start salivating, our stomach gears up for hydrochloric acid (HCl) production and our intestines get ready for peristalsis, the undulating movement that moves food through our intestines…
A series of significant physiological events have happened, and that's just from a thought about lunch! Imagine the changes that take place from thoughts and feelings about the things that really matter to you!
There are a number of things we can do about this. There is a lot of information available regarding stress reduction (e.g. breathing techniques, exercise, yoga, meditation). Much of the work done here at InnerWorks reduces stress. Check the services listed.
Dr. Kraskow uses several types of mind-body work to decrease mental and emotional stress. Much of the work focuses on past issues which continue to effect us in our daily lives. The following are some procedures used:
Neuro Emotional Technique seeks to decrease the effects of negative emotional experiences which have been memorized by your body.
Thought Field Therapy disrupts energy patterns associated with traumatic events and negative experiences. Acupoints are stimulated while the client recalls an emotional event.
Dr. Kraskow frequently uses homeopathics and flower remedies which decrease the impact of stressors on his clients' health. Extraordinary free of side effects, these non-chemical remedies subtlety and gently change perspective and experience.
