Lymphatic Drainage at InnerWorks

Lymphatic drainage involves the use of gentle, hands-on maneuvers to asses the lymphatic system and simulate wave-like movements with a pressure starting at about the weight of a nickel. This process works to activate fluid circulation and stimulate the working of the immune system.

The lymphatic system is critical to our body's ability to clear toxins and stagnant fluids from all parts of our body, to detoxify and filter out foreign substances and maintain a healthy immune system. (Adair & Guyton,1982). It is a complex system comprised mainly of lymphatic vessels, nodes and certain organs working in cooperation to accomplish these tasks. This work, however, may be hindered or stopped due to trauma, surgery, scar tissue, infections, or substantial swelling, fatigue or stress. This may open the way to many physical ailments and hasten the aging process.
