Theresa Flaigle
Theresa Flaigle is a Licensed Masters Level Social Worker. She has worked in the mental health arena in Wichita since 1995. Theresa has worked for COMCARE of Sedgwick County, Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter, Family Consultation Service, and with Breakthrough Club of Sedgwick County.
Theresa is dedicated in helping individuals recognize their own self worth and value, believing that all human beings are deserving of dignity and respect. Those who struggle with anxiety and depression could benefit from her dedication to helping.
Theresa is passionate about helping each individual to determine his or her own path to healing and to being emotionally healthy. She has a strong focus on helping those who have experienced a traumatic event to find a way to overcome the devastating effects of trauma. This focus includes but is not limited to returning soldiers and their families as well as survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Theresa is willing to assist groups and individuals, ages ten through adult.
Theresa is honored to be a part of the InnerWorks Holistic Health concept. It is critical to Theresa that those who seek her assistance have the best support available. With a collaborative effort and by utilizing all the services at InnerWorks, clients can receive a whole body and whole mind healing experience.
Additionally, Theresa offers a non-traditional approach to psychotherapy. She is certified with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). The EAGALA method offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). EAGALA allows a facilitating team (Mental Health Professional, Equine Specialist and horses) an opportunity to help people using experiential activities that incorporate metaphoric learning. Each individual involved interprets the meaning of the activities and horse behavior based on his or her own personal experiences.
