Vickie Carter, R.N.

After receiving her nursing degree from Newman University in 1992, Vickie worked at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in Wichita, specializing in the care of closed head injury, pain management and post stroke patients. She has worked for several years in private duty nursing, with an emphasis on post-stroke and end of life care. Vickie served as the Campus Nurse at Friends University for 8 years.
While working at an Orthopedic Rehabilitation Clinic, Vickie received advanced training in CranioSacral Therapy (CST), Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT), Visceral Manipulation, SomatoEmotional Release (SER) and worked with clients experiencing a wide range of chronic and acute symptoms. It was through this training and patient care experience that she realized first hand that a holistic approach to healing and wellness is essential to sustained health.
In 2004, Vickie joined her private practice with a wonderful group of like-minded practitioners at InnerWorks Holistic Health Center. Here, she continues to gain experiential understanding that the healthcare we provide must address all aspects of our being -physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual - because they deeply influence each other. Our highest functioning cannot be achieved if we only tend to physical dysfunction or pain issues. She approaches each session with the intent to work in respectful partnership with the client, as they develop an individual treatment plan. Vickie blends her knowledge, skills and experience with Lymphatic Drainage, CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki, and SomatoEmotional Release to help provide benefits which include: relief of chronic or acute pain of the spine and neck; headaches, TMJ, tinnitus, inner ear congestion, vertigo; release of old emotional traumas; reduction of edemas (swelling) and lymphedemas of many origins; relief of chronic and sub-acute inflammation and conditions such as acne, eczema and allergies; detoxification; immune system stimulation; deep relaxation to aid relaxation to aid insomnia, depression, stress, loss of vitality; relief of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
