Muscle or Trigger-Point Therapy can be characterized as a technique to address a hyperirritability in a tissue that, when compressed, is locally tender and often refers pain. TP Therapy is the manual treatment of trigger points for therapeutic effect. Once a trigger point is located, sustained pressure is applied for approximately 15 seconds and repeated as necessary. Due to the presence of discomfort and the necessity of interaction between the therapist and client, this is not recommended for clients whose main goal is relaxation.
